Ningbo, also called ‘Yong’ for short, is located in the middle of the coastal line of the Chinese Mainland and in the South of the Yangtze River Delta.To the east of Ningbo is the Zhoushan Archip-elago, as natural bulwark; to the north, Hangzhou Bay; to the west, the City of Shaoxing and to the south, the City of Taizhou. Ningbo offers a subtropical monsoon climate, featuring mild temperatures,moderate humidity and distinct seasons.The annual average temperature is 16.4℃, with hottest month, July (28℃ in average) and coldest one, January (4.7℃ in average).

sea-crossing bridge——Hangzhou Bay Bridge

One of the masterpieces of modern architecture, the fantastic Hangzhou Bay Bridge is the longest sea-crossing bridge in the world - a total length of 36km and bridge length 35.7km . It spans across the Hangzhou Bay on the East China Sea and crosses the Qiantang River at the Yangtze River Delta. It shortens the ground transportation distance from Ningbo to Shanghai by 120km and travel time from four hours to two hours. It is a two-direction highway with speed limits of 100km/h for the main spans and 120km/h for land approaches, and a 100-year, service guaranteed, cable-stayed design. The bridge has a height of 62m, enabling fourth and fifth generation container ships to pass through in all conditions.

Putuo Mountain

Putuo Mountain, a small island in Zhoushan Islands, is located 100 sea miles east of Hangzhou Bay in Zhejiang Province. The whole island covers an area of 12.5 square kilometers. The highest peak, the Fudingshan Mountain is 300 meters high above the sea level.Putuo means "beautiful white flower" in Sanskrit, so Putuo Mountain is also known as Baihua (white flower) Mountain. It has been reputed as Sea-Heaven Buddha Kingdom for a long time. This mountain and Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province, Emei Mountain in Sichuan Province, and Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui Province are called Four Famous Mountains of China's Buddhism.
